Family car rental in Morocco: child seat, 7-seater and tips

Child seat, 7 seats, luggage: how to choose and book the right vehicle for your family holiday in Morocco.

Published on October 9, 2026·2 min read

Travelling as a family in Morocco takes a little extra planning: boot space, child seats, and suitable roads. Here is how to pick and book the right vehicle for a successful family trip.

Which car for how many people

A 5-seat city car suits 2 adults with 1–2 children and light luggage. Once the group exceeds 4 people or luggage piles up (pushchair, suitcases, equipment), choose a minivan, family saloon or SUV with a large boot.

For 5 adults or more, or a group with several children in booster seats, look at 7-seaters (minivans, 7-seat SUVs). Check availability early — 7-seaters are often first to go in summer and during school holidays.

Child seat and family options

A child seat (or booster) is not always included in the daily rate. Check on the agency listing whether the option is offered, at what price and for which age/weight range. If the agency does not provide one, you can bring your own — confirm the car is ISOFIX-compatible if needed.

Also ask whether the vehicle has rear air-conditioning (essential in summer), USB or screen access for long drives, and a boot accessible independently of the rear seats for suitcases. These details are often in the vehicle description on Udrive.

Family routes and practical tips

National roads between Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca and Rabat are comfortable for families. Plan a break every 90–120 minutes with children: rest areas exist on motorways, less consistently on other roads.

Agadir is often cited as the most family-friendly destination for young children, with accessible beaches and hotels with children's facilities. Marrakech and its region offer varied excursions and activities for older children.

For a family road trip, always choose unlimited mileage and check drop-off rules if you change city. On Udrive, filter the 7-seat or SUV category, enter your dates and compare verified agencies available at your pickup point.
